Fall

I absolutley am in love with the fall season. Fall to me means sweater weather, pumpkin spice lattes, soups, fall runs, and sweatshirts on the beach. Although I really enjoy summer and laying in the sun, I am always looking forward to when fall rolls around and I can enjoy the perfect weather. The only thing is, that perfect never lasts long enough!! When I think of fall one memory really comes to mind. Two years ago was the first year that I had my puppy Toby. I can remember it like it was yesterday. I took him to the beach for the very first time. I was so unsure how Toby was going to react to the beach because he had never been there, but I had a feeling that he would love it. We drove down to the beach together. The weather was 75 degrees and sunny, with that crisp fall breeze. Toby hit the sand and froze. He walked really slowly almost crawling trying to figure out what it was. I watched him to see what he was going to do next. Suddenly, he took off like a bullet. He ran so fast, galloping around the sand like a little jumping bean. I remember laughing and smiling as I watched him bounce around. This is a memory that I will never forget, and to this day, every fall, me and Toby go to the beach and play.

Wondering

Third Graders,
In our "time to wonder" everyday we have been talking about the importance of wondering. Asking questions and always wondering is what motivates us to be the best learners we can be. As I was looking at all of your questions that you were creating, it got me SO excited to start Genius Hour with all of you.

As you reflect on your "time to wonder" and the questions that you started creating,
Why do you think it is important to wonder?
Share one or two questions you wonder about!

I can't wait to read all of your thoughtful comments.
Don't forget when you are commenting, to remember all that we know about good writing!

Growth Mindset

We have been talking a lot in class about the importance of having a GROWTH MINDSET and always believing that you can do anything in this world if you have a positive mindset and put the work in to learn all that you can. The quote above is my favorite quote of all time and is displayed in our classroom for a purpose. Its purpose is to be a constant reminder to each and every one of you that you matter. You are important and you have something worth sharing with the world.

Having a growth mindset is all about understanding that sometimes there are things that are hard,
but you CAN do them as long as you believe that you can.

What is one way you have shown a growth mindset?
How do you plan on having a growth mindset in the future?

I can't wait to hear all of your thoughtful comments.

Welcome Bloggers!

Hello #Bloggers!

Blogging is an excellent way to communicate with others online. Blogging is like having a conversation online. A blogger can create a post (what you are reading right now). After other people have read the blog post, they are able to leave a comment.

Comments should be kind responses or questions about what the topic of the post. This is how digital conversation begins!

This year you will become blogging experts! We will first start practicing blogging on our class blog. As the year goes on, each and every one of you will create your own individual blog!

I hope you are excited as I am!
